EFSIS -
Foundation Level
• Pest control procedures shall be effective
• Regular inspection and treatment of premises to deter and eradicate infestation.
• The service contract shall be clearly defined and reflect the activities of the site.
• Detailed records of the pest control inspections, recommendations and necessary action undertaken shall be kept.
• Correctly sited, permanently operational electric fly killers shall, where appropriate, be provided.
• Drains shall be fitted with screens and traps to prevent pest entry.
• Incoming products shall be thoroughly inspected on arrival for the absence of pest infestation.
• All products shall be stored so as to minimize the risk of infestation.

• Where stored product insects are considered a risk, appropriate measures shall be included in the control programme.
• Documentation shall detail the safe use and application of baits.
